Just wanted to share my personal opinion about ‘capturing the moment’ at a wedding.
I have been at a few venues where the Pastor or the ‘wedding planner’ tells me only ‘limited’ photos during the ceremony, and sometimes ‘no flash’ … they tell me ‘we can capture that moment anytime afterwards’? And I’m thinking REALLY? I mean no disrespect to any Pastors out there … really, but the bride and groom do pay a lot of money to have their day captured in photography, whether it be me or any other photographer … and sometimes I don’t think they are really thinking rationally about this. This wedding only happens one time … and getting that special moment to me while they are being married is a very special part and should definitely not be halted or limited. The following photos were taken during the ceremony … and I wasn’t very close to the couples …! Just tell me again, ‘we can capture that moment anytime afterwards’ after you take a look at these!
I believe a photographer can be quiet and poised while the ceremony is going on … With that being said, I strongly suggest you speak with the Pastor who is marrying you about his decision not to allow photos or ‘limited’ photos during the ceremony.
